We moved down to Texas this year, in August. It’s weird. We were hardly settled in our new house in Castle Pines, CO and then we were moving again. I don’t think Dylan or I had ever considered living in Texas. So far the kid’s school is great, all our neighbors are nice and Dylan is enjoying his new position at work, but we don’t feel like we are home. I keep thinking we will be returning to Colorado and our old house soon. Max seems to think and feel the same way; he asks me when we are going home to our house in Colorado. Maybe after our new baby gets here we will feel more at home.
Today was especially strange…it was Christmas and it was over 70 degrees all day. It was nice to play outside, but it was also very overcast and humid. The weather is very different from what we are used to, not necessarily bad, just different. It is sad that the kids aren’t going to be able to enjoy the snow like we did last year. Max was just getting into sledding and building forts and slides in the snow. We had some huge, awesome snow storms in Castle Pines last year. Because Castle Pines is in the foothills we got even more snow than other places we had lived in Colorado.
